Never understand the privy stuff. Does the privy stuff usually more expensive or cheaper than the regular sml?

A privy mark makes the coin a bit more unique. It also tends to raise the value somewhat as fewer coins with the privy mark are made then then generic version of the coin.

That being said, I don't get the whole privy thing either. :)

Privy maples have a lot smaller of a mintage and some times they have a much nicer finish than normal maples. These are some of my favorite coins, for the price it's pretty sweet. I'm not sure who the official distributors are of this one. I hope a Canadian company will carry them.

Provident Metals and APMEX have them coming soon. Like you say, hopefully these will be readily available in the GWN.

I don't see any mintage numbers anywhere yet. Provident expect to ship these out in the first half of January.

I just found that moderncoinmart is selling these for less than 41$US each on ebay, shipping is 5$US (flat), and the best part is they are doing a buy 5 coins get 5$ off promotion... so shipping is partically free. I just ordered 5 and the total is about 209$CAD, which is close to APMEX price without APMEX kind of shipping cost. Just FYI in case anyone is looking for these.

BTW, I don't know if this is considered good price for this coin.... so you might want to shop around first.

Thanks for the info shopaholic. Can you buy 5 of each different coin or do they have to be the same?

It says they do not ship international with these items. The price is now over $42, what's up with that?

@vinnycoin: The "buy 5 save 5$" works for mixing-and-matching coins. BUT shipping cannot be combined, so if you buy 2xSML Snake Pivy + 3x Somalia Elephant, they will charge 10$ for shipping (5$ for SML and 5$ for elephant), and then there will be 5$ saving. They have a "shopping cart" system now so you can try playing with different combinations to see the price.

And too bad I think they just hiked the price... :(

I got the 2012 with dragon privy for $41 no shipping. I really wanted my first silver maple and absolutely loved the reverse proof bolstered by a dragon! Not sure if I will be getting the snake, but I do enjoy the privy strikes. Mintage for the 2012 dragon I believe was 25,000... not sure if the snake will be the same.
