they keep 50 cents in the traditional sets probably because one day 50 cents will be back to circulation

Oh good call, I never thought about them maybe bringing back the 50 cent. and ditch the quarter. At least the 50 cent will hold up to inflation longer.

Quote: I bet it might rolls of the last million pennies sold to the public at face value It might be a small 1/10 oz silver coin dated 2012 and another dated 1908 I love the idea of rolls sold to the public, how about 5 rolls for $5, free shipping? Also, a 1-1 sized gold or silver penny would be ideal.

Keep in mind 1,000,000 pennies = only 20,000 rolls. So I doubt that they will be doing rolls. And if they do you wont be able to order 10 at a time

Enough is uncovered now that it looks like a special mint-wrapped roll....

Of course they will. When is the big question. I wonder if MC members get a first crack at them.
Hopefully the prices are better than the secondary market, where they sell penny rolls from $3 to $10 each. And each roll only got 50 of them or 50 cents and they sell them for 10x or more circulation price.

You guys must have more imagination than me because I can't see a roll of coins there. I also hope you're wrong. I already have a enough rolls of 2012 pennies and I just got 4 more in change today. Notwithstanding a special wrapper, they're about as rare/collectible as snowflakes. Don't expect MC to get a pre-order. The RCM has already committed to releasing whatever it is publicly. I doubt very much that they are going to reveal a new product on FB and then not sell them to the general public.

Maybe it is a bookmark with a penny on it. The Mint did that before with quarters...

Take a look here, on Govmint.com: http://www.govmint.com/item/Canada-...card/238164/Kind of "Last Year Issue" Something similar could be offered by RCM too to the general public. Do not see any reason to pre- advertise some serious product on the Facebook and not on the Mint site. URL doesn't work correctly, have no idea why.. So just go to the govmint.com and type in the search: LAST YEAR ISSUE

my guess is it will be very nice, we will all want to own one or two. BUT it will be over priced, and masterclub members will buy nearly all of them, so we will be forced to buy it on the secondary market at even higher prices.. imo.

It's looking more and more like a roll.
That would be the most obvious sink for the last million.
