Whether or not it's artificial, that coin is UGLY. I mean, yikes ugly.

Explanation: AT = Artificially Toned This coin's colouring is actually a text book example of an artificially toned coin. 100% AT'd coin. No one, who has an educated background in coin toning, would dispute this fact. For someone on ebay trying to sell this as the real deal with the wording "TRUE BEAUTY IF YOU LOVE TONING THIS ONES A MUST" strikes me as highly unethical. |

Do you have any website references one could look at for various AT coins?
I'm interested in learning about this, how to identify.
Actually , I'm interested in doing it myself as well, if I can not find any information on the topic.
As far as I know, there are two ways, anodizing and heat. I think if I do it myself, I will document it, the process, and publish it here. that's assuming I can even do it.

If AT then why did ICCS certify this coin ? And I'm guessing you say AT from the colors ? What about all those ebay seller Hugues ? He had many coins with same colors and some that were so purple , that every one said AT and one was here on the forum causing drools.... HUM? to each his own I guess and yes Its my coin guys >>> I showed it here before and it was a 50 50 split |

I still think that the other coins in the white cardboard behind plastic from the same proof like set would have been great to have together toned the same way. Your new photos look great. Toning is hard to capture well. https://goccf.com/t/133440Edited by Bm0ney

ICCS in my opinion, drops the ball here. There is absolutely no way PCGS would slab a coin with these colour patterns. ICCS, unfortunately does grade these. And yes, that ebay seller of all the ICCS high grade ms65 multi-coloured coins would not have a chance of these passing for genuine colour at PCGS. Again bottom line is 'know your stuff - buy the coin, not the holder'. |

In my opinion, the 'burnt-orange' is a dead giveaway for an artificially toned coin (enhanced by an environment of sulphur).
I think originally this was a brilliant white coin with peripheral blue toning.
Then 'sulphur' air was added, causing the burnt-orange colour to occur everywhere on the coin's surface and also, probably increasing the intensity of the blue colours.
