I used to save these I have a small cookie tin full. Now though, since there is so much copper in circulation, I just save wheats. I actually got $25 in rolls from a credit union that someone brought in where every single coin was 1979 or older.

I recently started saving, I have about $10 worth now. Mostly from change and roll searching.

I have just been pulling out all copper cents out of my pocket change as well. I have not been roll searching for them. I have around $20 worth over the last year or so.

Right now I have 4,300 pennies and shows me a little over 103 dollars melt value that's a sixty dollar profit. I also found a local Pawn Shop that said they will melt it down for me if I just want the copper.

This is illegal and they can go to prison and/or pay a steep fine.

I have a bunch of Canadian pennies and that is okay since it isn't our currency. I always save Canadian coppers I find in our circulation.

I have been hoarding for about 8 years now and just crossed the $1400 mark. It is getting much harder to find but I still roll search boxes and just can't pass up something worth 2.5 times what it costs me. I guess that makes it an obsession.

I roll search and keep them all. I put them in paper rolls, and then put 15 dollars at a time inside a small priority flat rate box and tape it up good, then store it away. I have over a hundred dollars after almost a year. I will eventually put them on ebay, down the road, but at the very words it's kind of a forced savings. Over a hundred dollars worth so far, and I didn't even notice the small amount of money they cost. Plus, the fun of finding and pulling the wheats!

I don't go out of my way to find them but if I see copper cents in my pocket change I put them aside. Likely have $10 face accumulated but not keeping track.

I am keeping mine because I can. However, I am only pulling them from normal circulation, not from roll hunting.

I buy several rolls a week from the bank and get a kick out of finding BU copper Lincolns. They are so beautiful. I save all my coppers.

So is Murder, robbery, etc and still that goes on.
The coin melting police are all on vacation now.
I don't save Copper Cents for the Copper. If it has a date I need, then yes. Otherwise to much trouble hoping for making any profit on bulk Copper coins. Everyone uses the phrase melt but just where do you sell it for that?
