I keep them because the day is coming when they will go the way of the silver coin. I don't expect to profit by an substantial amount. I just keep them for the sake of keeping them. Perhaps my grandchildren will enjoy them. Or it may interest them to start collecting too. I do sometimes wonder how many I have though. That canvas sack is very heavy. Report this Post to the Staff

WHEATS, COPPERS, 2009'S, and CANADIEN'S . I coin roll hunt for them occasionaly. I have probably 30 dollars worth. and will continue. Report this Post to the Staff
ghostrider Pillar of the Community United States 1116 Posts	Posted 01/09/2013 12:29 am I have searched over 90 boxes of pennies and am averaging 23% found rate, so I have lots of pennies. I also keep track of Memorial (pre81), 1982, canadian, and wheat. I store these coins in the garage in a 55 gallon barrel. If someone comes in an can carry it out, they can have them. I figure that right now I have over 400 pounds of pennies and the barrel is not full. I calculate that when and if I fill the thing up it will weigh almost a ton. I calculated once that if I kept them in rolls and in the bank boxes I have over 20 filled boxes. That's one load. Would you take the time to roll or just leave them loose in the barrel and let your kids solve the problem after your gone. I figure that if I leave them in the barrel it would be called "Dad's Revenge".j Report this Post to the Staff
