So I acquired an 1889-CC Morgan today. Looks to be all legit. Just wanted to hear opinions on condition and what grade you guys would possibly put on it and why.

Interesting. So what qualifications does it need to not be fake?

Wow.
I'll have more to say when I'm not looking at the coin from my cellphone.

to the forum! I don't know enough about these to help you with authentication, but as far as grade goes, I'd say it's in the AU range. It appears there is a hint of rub in the fields.

I'd post a few more pics but I don't see the option... Where is this rub you speak of?

Call me chicken but I would not purchase this unless it was slabbed. Looking forward to SsuperDdave's comments.

WOW! Don't know what to say on this one...I checked with my diagnostics guide and my prelimnary opinion is that it's the real deal. But I could not say for sure without holding it. You must have had deep pockets today as anything above AU is spendy! I'm thinking around AU53/55. A closeup of the date and a closeup of the highest cotton leaf and surrounding area would help. ..........welcome!
