I will end up sending it in soon. I was waiting on someone to offer me $0.10 for it.

I'll be submitting this coin to ANACS next weekend. I'm going to my first coin show, the Middle Georgia Coin Show Perry,Ga. Hopefully I'll get some good deals, with my budget. (15 years old with no job)

You'll have a nice budget if the coin is real!

At 15 years of age to find one of the most desirable dimes ever in a junk box for a measly $3.00 is fantastic. It would make a great trade coin when the time comes where you can afford to upgrade it. Most dealers will pay more for a rare coin when taken in as part of a trade/cash deal than if buying it outright for cash. Ed ANA LM-3175

Hi there, great find! No need to wait until the 20th, your pics authenticate it 100%, not a questionable call, that is one nice original album filler

Although his coin looks good at first glance - I'm thinking it's Die #1 - some of the finest counterfeit artists ever known have taken this one on. It was known to be a key from the year they were struck; the motivation to fake a coin that's now worth $400 in AG-3 was great. OP, compare the two faces very carefully. All 1916-D's have some slight die rotation; if yours is Die #1, it will have a very little rotation to the left of vertical. Understanding that we describe this stuff using a clock analogy, this one should be rotated to 11:45 when 12:00 is straight up.

I understand SuperDave suspicion, that is why so important to send it to one of the top 3 grading company to authenticated. Hopefully ANACS find this one to be authentic, otherwise; it would be a great conversation piece.

no disrespect intended, nor taken. As the original poster mentioned it being on its way to grader, it was moot point. And Agreed, as resolute as pictures are and few diagnostics checking out, it cannot be ascertained 100% without having it in hand. But, without ever having being within 20 feet of that coin, I personally would guarantee a slot in another little blue Whitman holder for it
