Poll Question
I've been hearing that negative feedback for asyn on ebay means you get blocked from future bidding. I'd love to hear from anyone that has left negative feedback... or neutral feedback. I got burned on a three dollar set (asynpm actually) that has PVC damage on each coin and I'm wondering if I should just eat it because I have benefitted from some good deals. It's not worth the postage to return it and they didn't offer a refund when I contacted them (they said I should have looked at their photos for condition). So... Have you left negative or neutral feedback for any of asyn's ebay stores?

They had sent me the wrong coin. I messaged them about it and within days received the correct coin and they told me to keep the wrong coin. I left positive feedback and after that was blocked.

They sent me the wrong coin once.Gave me a refund and let me keep the face value(not even worth 99cents)coin.I'm surprised they're reluctant to satisfy you. Unlike timnic I wasn't blocked.

I left neutral feedback, calling their grading "overly optimistic" - so of course, I was blocked...

I buy according to the pictures they provide not by their grading. I have had issues and they were very happy to resolve the problems. Yes they do tend to over grade and that is why you must judge for yourself by the pictures. If your not sure...dont buy the item as with any seller.

Quote: I left positive feedback and after that was blocked. Wow. I guess the lesson here is either don't buy from asyn, or be prepared to live with ANY problem that arises. Personally, I've done one small transaction, left positive, and haven't been back since.

w/rmc I've never had a problem with asyn. As long as you take the time to look carefully at the scans, then you shouldn't have a problem. I have never received a coin different from what was pictured.

Asyn is a good source of cheap coins. They know how to grade but don't bother doing it on the common stuff. They know how to recognize varieties - much better than me - in other words, they know what they have and offer.
They run a well oiled selling machine and prefer not to deal with "problem" customers.
I buy frequently from then and never had a problem, even if I had, I would not complain because I want to continue enjoying their cheap stuff.

Their grades are accurately absurd and they know what they have. I'm going to eat my small loss and keep taking the deals I do find.

I think its common knowledge that when you purchase ASYN coins that you did not take those gradings literally.

i purchased 6 bills from ASYNPAPER (his paper money account) didn't receive any of them, he emailed me telling me to wait to open a case, about 1 month after he shipped, finally I opened a case, he waited until the last day (you have 180 days after it's shipped to open a case) he waited until day 179 to refund me the money, I left negative feedback for all 6 items and got blocked on his normal account "ASYN" his paper money "ASYNPAPER" and his worldcoins/bullion "ASYNPM"

Yeah, I'm blocked from his auctions as well due to his own mistake. Oh well, it makes browsing listings on ebay a lot easier when his stuff is filtered out of searches.

I think getting blocked by a seller after leaving them negative feedback is a normal reaction from most sellers. However, I do find getting blocked for complaining, getting a refund and leaving positive feedback is not normal at all.

I've had several cases where there was a problem with a coin. I bought an 1974 DY #1 and it turned out to be a #2, the title said a 2012 proof loonie but I got a 2009 proof loonie, etc. A couple of other cases where I was charged HST on .9999 silver etc. In all cases I've sent a message politely explaining the problem and listing a couple of acceptable solutions such as a partial refund. In all cases I have received a reply within a day or two accepting one of my proposals. The longest I've had to wait for a refund is 1 week. My policy is that if a situation is resolved to my satisfaction then I leave positive feedback so I've never had to leave negative feedback so can't speak to what happens if you do. (My other rule is to completely ignore any stated grade when I'm bidding on asyn listings unless it's in a TPG holder! :-) ). In your case I would suggest taking a look at the picture to see if the PVC damage is obvious or not. I know, it's hard to tell with the quality of pictures they post but try your best. If it is evident then you got what you bid on. If it isn't then send a message explaining the problem. They do accept returns. Keep in mind they are a huge volume seller (600+ coins per day just on asyn) so you may get better bargains (if you're cautious and smart) but you won't get the personal attention a smaller seller will give you. Caveat emptor!
