Next time I purchase on ebay, I will NOT, I repeat NOT, leave any feedback unless 105% satisfied. An ebay seller actually offered me a 2$ compensation to change my feedback to positive (and of course I didn't as I felt bilked)

have bought from several times and even returned once for a refund (called first, they were happy to have me send it back), did NOT get blocked. however I did NOT leave feedback.
when selling I've had maybe 5 negatives left for me over the last 8 years. a couple I deserved for forgetting to ship items (there was a time when I was shipping 20-30 packages a week and sometimes things slip through the cracks - I can't even imagine trying to handle asyn volume), but the couple I "earned" from totally unreasonable customers forced me to block all members who left neutral and negatives after one of them bought some cheap items and neg'd me out of spite (before the items had even shipped).

I am not a seller. As a buyer, I left 2 negatives in more than 10 years of eBaying: one: the vendor agreed receiving the item back but never refunded me, the other someone so confused that should not be selling popcorn on a state fair.
All other negative experiences I just got over them, and "block" them from my sellers' list.
Note: I am a very lazy guy - I try to buy everything I need or want on the web. Compared to the amount I spend, my negative experiences are very small.

I used to buy from asyn for quite some time, but over the years, his grading has deteriorated. I didn't mind a couple of grade points off, because I could calculate the trends accordingly, but lately it's been anywhere from 2 points to 5 points off!! The shipping prices are better, but then the delivery is slower than before. Also, there is no effort to improve the picture quality, so it's hard to tell what you're bidding on. I suspect he isn't a one-man operation though; perhaps quite a few members involved? Whatever the case, I left him positive feedback because I liked the deals. But in terms of quality, I'd rather buy from someone who shows both sides of the coin & points out the flaws, attempts a half-decent fair grade, or takes a little time to post a quality pic. But that's just me!

Quote: I buy according to the pictures they provide not by their grading. I have had issues and they were very happy to resolve the problems. Yes they do tend to over grade and that is why you must judge for yourself by the pictures. If your not sure...dont buy the item as with any seller. I agree. I buy from asyn and have never had a problem. I too buy from the pictures of the coin as they are way overgraded but I know that before I make the purchase. I don't keep my expectations high. The free shipping is a bonus and I always have my order within a week after purchase.

Ive bought from asyn once a couple times, got what I paid for, left positive feedback. I dont pay much attention to his grades because they are obviously way off. However, sometimes the deals are good and the pictures are OK.
I cant imagine this is a one man operation....i mean, this guy must sell 1000s of items EVERYDAY! Hes got 3 or 4 accounts I cant recollect, but the sheer volume this guy pushes out, and all that work to list the items...crazy, crazy amount of work. Not to mention...where does he GET all of these coins? He (or she) must have a HUGE storage room

HOW is this possible? I can't tell if you are joking or not. You were actually relying on his grades? Also you think he's only 2 - 5 points off? In my experience it's almost without a doubt 40-50 points off. An EF coin is always Fine at best and MS60 coins are usually VF...

I've purchased many coins from them but like others have mentioned there grading sucks big time. Also as others have mentioned you can find many varieties at a very good price they don't catch them all. I got a couple of Queen Victoria large cents an 1859 DP9 #1 F-12 for under $20.00 from them, an 1894 fat 4 MS-60 brown for $25.00 so I don't complain when I receive a under graded coin from them. But I have returned 2 coins to them for a refund and never every had a problem returning them or receiving my refund but I told them that the coin didn't fit in my collection I never got blocked from them. I think they are a good source for finding varieties but not graded coins.

I find his selection really amazing for a new collector like myself! I have bought many pieces from him recently, with no problems what so ever! I even got a refund, by not reading the title properly. I will definitely continue to support him, if it's the coin I need.

He/they have certainly shaken up the coin market in Canada for sure. I have heard rampant speculation, from people claiming that he must have received a large inheritance, or that it's a money laundering scheme, etc.
I buy from them semi-frequently, but I find that:
1) They ship very slowly. I have had items ship almost two weeks after I pay for them. 2) They send you "please pay for item X" within 48 hours, which I find to be harassing. 3) They mislabel coins sometimes.

You find someone asking you to pay for something you purchased 2 days ago harassing?

I bought a few things off of them without issues. I then paid up for some misattributed varieties. I returned them without leaving any feedback and was blocked.

I've always assumed they're just tied in to some of those 'buy your gold and silver' operations running in Toronto. And probably running 'clearance' for a chain of coin shops. I have no confirmation of that theory though.
