I have found the Mint to be absolutely and thoroughly unhelpful when it comes to getting answers for questions that do not directly involve ordering a new coin or dealing with an existing order. And even then, from the stories I've heard here, their CSRs may have been trained by Bell.
Another reinforcement that the Mint really has no idea the nuances of dealing with numismatists--people who have made a hobby out of poring over every detail. They could at least make some effort in understanding their customers.

I completely agree.
The Mint's only concern is pushing sales. They seem to have no appreciation, respect or regard for customers or numismatics. I would be shock to learn that there are any real collectors amongst the BOD or senior management.
I have never gotten a satisfy answer to any question that I have ever asked. Even their process is inane. You can ask a question via the website, but if you do get a reply, there is no mechanism to ask for clarification or follow-up. You cannot reply to their e-mails.
I have tried to get answers from my Rep and it's usually an "I don't know". There is never an "I'll find out and get back to you or have someone who does know get back to you".
Calling them is a whole other circus.

Perhaps posting on their facebook will have some affect. Force them to explain why both the original and the replacement COA exists.

The last time I called the mint (two nights ago), I was on hold so long the telephone battery went dead. No one talked to me for 28 minutes while on hold. Had to hang up. Bad, bad customer service. Hope you get an answer, eventually. Replacement my ...

Quote: Perhaps posting on their facebook will have some affect. Force them to explain why both the original and the replacement COA exists Maybe though I'd bet they would simply delete the post. Twitter might be more effective since they can't delete another person's tweet. Regardless, I would not post on either FB or Twitter with my 'real' name. There is simply too much risk in being identified as a collector. Could make fake accounts and ask I guess.

Hey Silverdon, Hopefully we can all have great discussions on this website and not have to depend on answers from the Mint.

When talking about COA numbering, has anyone heard why the 100 4 100 series of coins don't have a COA? I believe total mintage was 50,000

They DO have a COA, but it's not serialized (numbered).

Thanks for the correction arianzo. Yes agree they have a COA, just not a numbered one. Just wondered if anyone knew why?

Because the mintage is too high. 20x20 coins are not serialized neither.
