Anaximander: By the innuendo you have indicated, I quite understand your uneasiness. This is a very good example of a coin that should be examined in hand, prior to purchase. Looks OK from the pictures, but they are awfully small pictures! You are perfectly right in wanting to know more information about the seller.

I guess every eBayer has to start with zero feedback, but I agree i'd be a bit cautious with one selling higher end items.
You would be covered by paypal in any case, depends how much hassle you want if this isn't legit.

Apparently weight is 26.8g diameter 40mm so in the right ball park. The seller was pretty quick at answering my question so why don't you ask for some better quality pics.

Also a bit strange the seller is from London, but has listed on .com ebay website, It is also strange it says its listed in Coins>Coins>British>Early Milled (c.1662-1816)>Twopence...? I definately smell a RAT on this occasion, I know seller have to start somewhere, but why with such expensive coins?

well, of course it's a great price - the auction has nearly five days to go. Typical noobie blunders: woeful pics; and he's nervous about shipping overseas. Which makes the listing on the big ebay a little odd: the whole idea of using the American site, as opposed to local, is to get into a bigger market, to attract more bids, and a higher price. This "dollar" is one of my favourite coins of all time.

Have a look at the photo of the only coin he bought - yesterday and the photo of the one he is selling - suspiciously same size and background

I see this seller has now listed quite a few Expensive coins, and note, the concern me solely because the Bradburys and Fisher notes all apear to be the rarer ones, and the overprint 10/- note looks suspicious as the actual overprint is not on alignment at the start and finish. He as a Bradbury T16 note with the "B" prefix, this is listed in Duggleby as ?, as in "DOES IT EXIST", He also has an unlisted Fisher note listed accidently as a "Beale". There are just too much wrong with this guys listings, I would certainly bodyswerve all his items. I sent him a message and he tells me the coins and notes were his dear old grandads who passed away
Also appears like SELLER coinage271933 is the same seller, photos appear to have the same quality and background
