I in no way disagree with the price for this roll, I have gotten 6 rolls myself and maybe some more when they come out on the 12th. I do see this roll holding a decent value and once stock is out at retail stores the price could go fairly high on ebay. Regular 2012 penny rolls were going over $20 each on ebay back in May/June. I think these ones could go up to and over $50.... |

I am on the fence on this one. Can't make up my mind whether to order 5 rolls from Gatewest Coins since that is the only place left to order.
I am worried about the massive amount of non-wrapped penny rolls out there. To the general
public, if they want a roll of the last pennies , they would just get one off the generic rolls.
These rolls would appeal mainly to collectors.

I look at these rolls like a signed limited edition art print. Sure there will be lots of copies out there but only a small portion are signed by the artist and will always command a premium due to their exclusivity.

@MoneyPenny: This should be considered a completely separate product from a regular 2012 roll. There are many people that buy the regular magnetic and regular non-magnetic and they both look exactly the same. I guess it's too late to reiterate again, but IMO anyone who misses out on these special wrapped rolls will regret it!

Actually solasius was referring to item 13162 (not 13136) which is a combo of a regular roll and the special roll for $19.95. It's not sold out yet.
However, DO NOT USE the link that he/she provided. It is an open session link and a similar posting on the RFD forum this week caused allot of problems for GW and buyers.
Solasius, I urge you to edit/or delete that link before it becomes a problem.

I just saw on ebay a bid of $41 for the special wrap roll. I kind of regret not ordering 5 from Gatewest.  Amazing how a special wrap can turn 50 cents of pennies into a premium product. |
