Quote: MoneyPenny: This should be considered a completely separate product from a regular 2012 roll. There are many people that buy the regular magnetic and regular non-magnetic and they both look exactly the same. I guess it's too late to reiterate again, but IMO anyone who misses out on these special wrapped rolls will regret it! I took your advice and ordered 5 rolls from Gatewest for $9.95 several hours before they doubled the price. Along with the penny rolls, I bought the 25th Fractional SML set, even though it was $20 more than list. What is your opinion on the fractional set?

@MoneyPenny: Looks like you got in just in time on the pennies! Also, I think that $220 is a good price for that fractional set.... I know a couple of people (who are on this forum) that have sold over 110 sets for at least $260-$280 each. Several shopping channels in the US have sold these sets (even un-certified) at $500-800 each.... So I don't think there is much risk at all in your purchase!

Quote: What is your opinion on the fractional set? It's a very nice set. The three leaf design is somewhat controversial but I think it gives this set a unique look. It's a must for any SML collector.

For the specially wrapped Penny rolls, it's hot now because of they hype, but in about 4 or five years... the value will probably come down to around $14 or $15. So flip them while they are hot and take profits.

I am not going to flip them. This is really worth for keepsake for the next generation.
It is great gift from friends, family, in any occasions.

about two months ago most of us was giving the home shopping guy grief for putting a special wrap on a roll of penny and charging 10 bucks. now the RCM has copied his marketing and the public has gone gungho over it. its 50 cents of the most hoarded mintage. I hope everyone can ebay these rolls for 100.00 each

The difference is provenance and a strict known supply (serialized hologram).
This is the final 1 million of 200,300,400 million. Versus a common roll of the whatever hundreds of millions that were made.
Looked at as the final million of the 32 billion pennies made by the mint, it is a tiny fraction.

but it is still only a roll of regular 2012 pennies, along with a 9.50 wrapper and hst. good luck to all who has purchased it.
