Mmmmm. I worked all night long. Caught about 2 hours of sleep in a bed that wasn't mine.... At least you're smart enough to not call it PMS.

I was not a fan of the arctic fox by its image on the website. Most coins do look way better in hand. I just didn't feel like giving the fox a chance.

My only worry with not picking up the artic fox at this point would be if some of the other coins in the series are really nice and miss out on the first one...
But I suppose there is always GW and such ! I'd like to see it in person

So far I've picked up:
1oz. O Canada sub.
1/2oz. O Canada sub.
Special wrap roll x 9
BTW, can't wait to pull them out in 10 - 20 years and show my grandkids (hopefully) some of the last million coins that they'll never know as currency.
GITD Dino x 4
The one I am really intrigued by is the Silver Fox. It says the series will all have different finishes and I think that will be the most unique aspect.
I'm thinking they'll look amazing all together.
Hopefully they're around for a bit so I can pay for the other ones first.....

It's too bad there isn't a subscription series for that one! Would be nice if it came with a nice box like the 1oz O' Canada set. Hadn't read about the different finishes though! This intrigues me!

From the RCM's description of the coin: "Your coin showcases five different coin finishes each with a separate degree of luster, exceptional engraving techniques and woodblock-inspired art."

I'm interpreting this to mean that each coin in the series will incorporate the same multi-finish technique vs. each coin having a different finish from the others.

@SoulBrotherNo3: Is that what you meant when referring to the different finishes, or are you thinking each coin will be different?

Others?

I expect the series for the Untamed Canada (Arctic Fox) and Tradition of Hunting to be long-running series, similar to the bird series, with only one to two coins release per year, hence no subscription nor free box.

I saw the fox coin at the boutique today. Very impress by it. I will order 1 or 2 of them as I really like it. The picture on the web site and the catalog does not do it justice.

Just in case I get flame: When I say I buy 2, it does not imply I'll flip it.

Hi commems,
I was thinking that the coins in the series would all be different finishes but I think you're right from the quote.
Can't wait to see this coin. Then I'll decide if I want to collect the series.
Can anyone confirm the finishes used?

Curious where you all think these series can go. I mean untamed animals, sure there are lots of them. The RCM could issue a few coins a year and run that series for a decade without running out of animals.

But what about the tradition of hunting? First is the deer. Ok but what follows? Buffalo, moose, partridge/grouse, duck, geese, rabbit, black bear, polar bear, caribou, squirrel, fox, seal...how long before they run into an animal that sparks a Greenpeace or PETA protest? I just don't understand how this continues as a series. Does anyone have an idea where the series is going?

I read that there are 5 different finishes on the single fox coin alone

Hm, I looked at it but frankly, don't remember much about it. Sorry, but I was just too busy looking at other coins. Was it suppose to be like the Artic fox?
