Haha definitely. I'm just trying to get all the commemoratives I can of 20/50 cents before I go home in a few days as back in Canada there will be ebay and ebay alone :/ And all I asked for was $36 worth lol. I do have a teller that's a family friend and looks out for things for me back home though :) is anybody in melbourne willing to swap me some commemoratives if they have extra for face plus a little for your time before I head back to Canada? I'm also looking for the nz large 20 cents without the bird on it. Thanks!

Quote: In addition to the above coins, in Bag 1, there were 10 NZ coins, 1 x UAE 1 Dirham, and in Bag 2 there were 2 NZ coins, 1 x Malaysian 20 Sen, 1 x Thai % Baht. I also got a UAE coin of some denomination in one of the 5 10 cent rolls I dug through :D

Well, I have noodled through, and written down the statistics of the "5 cent payout" from the coin change machine. Picture attached below. I shall post the stats when I have analyzed the data. My "special findings". Well, not that good . I have attached a pic below. One 1972 5 cent coin in very ordinary condition. A coin with spall-damage over the date ( PMD ?) (top left hand side coin). Doubling on the rim of the 2008 coin (bottom left hand side coin. A 1981 coin with a deep rim (bottom centre). I have seen lots of these 1981 "deeply impacted" coins when noodling 20 cent pieces. The mint folk must have set the coin press on "maximum impact" that year. A very badly worn 1999 coin (acid bath job ?). Top right hand side. And no noodling session would be complete without a contribution from our friends across the Tasman !. Ho hum. I think I will stick with 20 cent, 50 cent and 1 dollar coins in future Squire

Attached are the statistics from my noodling through 798 5 cent coins. First the tabulated amounts. Next the amounts (by year) compared with the mintages for that year (from McDonald). Note that my 2012 version of McDonald does not have figures for 2010 and 2011. From inspection of the bar graph it is quite clear to see that the older dates are under-represented. In numbers and graphs Squire PS. noodled through the two rolls of 10 cent coins last night. Nice to find one near-uncirculated 2011 coin. I believe these are quite scarce.

Hi Everyone... I havent been on here for a while as I have been really busy (like everyone else) finishing up with the final stages of my discharge within the Australian Army. Boy have things gotten hectic lately.
I have managed to get a publishing deal with a major publisher (80% will own at least 1 of their books), to do with decimal errors and varieties. Since the 1st edition will be monumental task and a labour of love, I have been told that I will not be making much at all... later editions is where money is made. However, it is something I've wanted to do for the last decade, as I had already turned down one offer from the same publisher years ago on Tokens.
I have already written half a concise handbook on common errors and their values which I intended to release as an ebook for iphone (epub) and iPad sometime this year. The responses have been fantastic and will help me further. (I'm also looking for a job too)....
I may require specific help in the future. If my workload becomes too much, I will consider bringing one of you information monsters in with me to author the book. (with the publisher). All of this information is great. I really appreciate it.

Hi blackmamba010. I am happy to help you with your book, and look forward to seeing this when it comes out . Feel free to use any images of mine that you find useful . If you intend to publish the book, might be useful to put "image provided by Squire Wilson / CCF member" in the caption. This keeps it "ridgy-didge" I hope this is consistent with Coin Community Forum rules. Squire

Hi guys. I have covered various aspects of noodling in a chapter in my book. Is there anything you think definately needs to be included? For example, I have discussed the importance of preordering from banks, use of change etc.... can you also provide me your experiences? e.g reasons for noodling, why you noodle... any pertainent information you think should be included would be greatly appreciated...
