I have a 1954 commemorative florin that is slightly rotated.
Are these common with these coins
I have many of these florins but only the one rotated coin.

I havent seen one before but having said that I've never really checked. Looks to be quite lustrous. I dont know if the little rotation would add much premium in value but it is interesting. From what I've heard the silver denominations are much harder to find rotated than the copper coins. There are exceptions to that obviosuly like the 1916 Shilling which is often found rotated.

I grade this one at MS63 so it is a "Keeper" anyway,
These are getting harder all the time to get in MS condition at a reasonable price.
The rotation IS interesting, but I agree that it doesn't add much of a premium on the value of the coin.

If I wasn't such a fussy bugger with the alignment of my coins in the albums I would never of spotted this one

Stuart Andersen Coins has one of these for sale ($50 in EF) and you have a much nicer example. Trout, I guess we coin collectors are a bit anal, so being a fussy bugger goes with the territory.
I have a few hundred, so I'll check them over the next few days and see if they are common. Stuarts blurb for his coin is that it is the first one he had seen so my guess is that they are not common.

Trout, most of mine are only average grades to lower
By chance I checked some of my reference material last night and in the Australian Numismatic Society Sept '55 issue on page 19 I spotted this:
Mr Bora 7 florins showing degrees of upset, dated 1953 and 1954.
So Melbourne must have had a few problems back then. I suppose most of Mr Bora's exhibited florins would have been aUnc (or better)
