To those who have the roll in hand (Taro?), are yours magnetic or not?

It was noted in another thread that they were non magnetic but the mint specs indicate that they are copper plated steel and therefore should be magnetic.

Just wonder it there is a mix, or if they are all either mag or nonmag.

We will know, when I'll get mine roll and open it.
Could be that someone will open it's first, but for sure mine will be checked.

Make sure you look for any 2011 pennies in there. Never know what you will find.

No need to open it. A magnetic will not be affected by a paper wrapper.

Silveroid and I have a bet that the roll won't be all 2012 coins. He says it will. I think there might be some old pennies in there or maybe even a 2013 penny made by mistake. Either way we are going to find out.

Yes, it is really interesting.
They could be magnetic, but not all of them.

And in general - will be interesting to see which coins are inside.
Ordered 2 rolls - from the Mint and CA, so I will still have one roll untouched as "Penny Farewell item"

All 6 rolls in my hand right now are non-magnetic. COAs range from 3,xxx to 11,xxx.

I saw the bet...just meant there would be no reason for anyone to open them before Silveroid.

Maybe they will be a wooden nickel in there? I'd put big money on there not being a 2013. I'd be surprised if a 2013 die even exists.

Thanks taro-chan. That makes cents () based on everything we've heard about the production of steel/zinc pennies. I guess it's just another description error on mint.ca and that they will all be nonmags. No super special magnetic rolls. Nothing to see here

LOL. But ya, I didn't expect magnetic rolls in there so I didn't check until now. Nothing in the rolls is magnetic. It would've been awesome if half of it was mag and the other nonmag. =D

Fore sure, everyone would need to have one of each... and would increase the overall demand and value of this product.

I might be missing something here, but what's the point of ordering these rolls, paying the ridiculous premium for shipping, and then peeling off the wrapper just to find there's nothing inside but more pennies? I thought the point of buying this was to have an intact roll of 2012s with the special Mint wrapper?
