very nice find indeed . Maybe it just the lighting or maybe its just me but dose the B look like a D to anyone else ? also the D is almost unreadable to me . I am getting older though maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me

The VDB is very difficult to read on this coin. I have another 1909 VDB that is in EF condition, and the VDB stands out much more clearly.

I found a 1909-S VDB in circulation as well back in early January. Mine was in great shape. Yours is in far, far better shape. Simply impeccable to get something that far back in such great shape!

And cheezyfryes, please don't joke about 1964 nickels, my uncle was killed in a 1964 nickel accident (I still have bad dreams)

i have been through 34 boxes of pennies and have yet to find a 1909 anything. in fact, I haven't found 1 key or semi key date at all

I'd say that VDB would grade at least XF at the absolute lowest, so hey, cool find. I found a plain and simple and very circulated 1909 in change a couple of months ago but usually I just find a Wheat cent from the 1950's here and there. |

Cheezyfryes - I thought it was hilarious when I wrote it last night - I was cracking myself up. (It was, however, very late & I was sleepy). It seems my attempt at humor fell flat also. I was joking with a joker because your comment about finding 64's was funny and I got it.
