Wow, shortly after that article, the auction bid jumped from $2000 to $2325!! All eyes on this auction tomorrow night, eh?

Does anyone have the urge to put a bid on it? I kind of did at about the $500 mark, but even then I would have had to max my credit card!

All would love to have it, but I'm far from being jealous! I'm a COIN collector and would much rather invest in coins, not wrappers

I'm not sure how many watchers there are, rmc, but the counter is up to #5640 and counting! Bid is $2425 now.

Guess I would be especially jealous if I had purchased #19,999 whilst the person behind me gets the next # in a busy line-up on the launch date! Otherwise, nah...

Curious...in a year or 2 from now if this roll was relisted....would it fetch the same?

What is the long range value of this roll going to be?

Because it's so unique (there's only one) it isn't like a normal hot item flip, that usually bring more money at first. Then most new releases, not all, decline in price because there are more flooding the market later.

IMO This will continue to go up in value. There's only one.

Latest bid is $2900 US with 12 more hours to go. My guess for the final bid is $3800.

@tocoins: Just because he has a box of them does not mean that he got more than 1 per household from the Mint... I will have almost 100 rolls and I still only got one from the Mint.

FYI- it just hit $3000.... incredible! I suspect that there are a number of people waiting to snipe it too.... I wouldn't be surprised if it goes over $5K at this point.

@wettld2, I have no problem with the entire box. It's just that in the news report it makes it sound like that he ordered this one roll and he hit a jackpot just like that. In the alternate version, what we all learn it's that he manages a postal office and an RCM outlet. Somehow there it's something that makes me wonder.
