It is gambling for this coin. 50-50 chance.

I will not place my bet on it.

Save up funds for the glass insect coin.

it is all depend on what you consider as good investment. It is still early yet and I am on the same line of thought as Bibo.

Here's a complete listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-CANADA...em2ec6ab15f3

Here's an on going auction:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-10-Fin...em33806fca37

If it is sold for around $92, you are making about $10 profit after ebay and paypal fee. Some will jump at that and others may consider other coins with better potential.

Yes but the 25 cent coin seams to be averaging around $50. One even sold for $89 with shipping. I think the 25 cent coin will average above $50. If this is the case you will achieve a return of $10 per coin, same as the silver coin. If I'm going to make $10 a coin I'm going to do it with the cheaper one. I can put out $340 for ten 25 cent coins and sleep comfortably. Spending $700 for ten silver coins and get less ROI would make me sleep poorly.

Colonial Acres have listed today the new coins.
Didn't see the subscription, but they have singles with the limit.

Purchased Silver Duck coin and Nickel one.

Yup, I agree with that. Personally, if I am going to buy the silver one, I might as well get the one with the case and duck call.

Hey guys!

yea I just read about these on the blog last night for World Mint news....

I like the silver one the best, and I see there is a three coin set also that is limited to only one per household. I am going to call after work today and get the mallard one, looks like a beautiful coin to me!

Nothing sold above bullion is an investment, the 1/100 mint products that appreciate are anomalies at best.

In general we agree. If you pay 2.5 times the bullion rate you will not have a good investment. But some coins are not worth their bullion value, some achieve a much greater rate of return based on the artistic value and rarity of the coin. In that respect I think we disagree. First I don't believe these coins to be anomalies. Everybody know which coins these will be, those are the ones with limits. Also I think that of all the mint product made of silver probably 1 in 50 will appreciate significantly.

With regard to the original subject I think this coin series will do well but the subscription set will bring a much higher premium than the coin alone. And with the difference in ROI from the 25 cent coin to the silver coin, I would only buy the silver coin because I like it and would not expect a huge return on investment. If you make money, be happy, just don't expect this coin to make you rich.

I don't see it doing that well. Once the series runs out collectors will move on to something else (the next series). The prices will come back down quicker than the dinosaurs.

Anyone look at complete auctions? It seems like Feb./Mar new release aren't getting any bids. Colonial
Acres started a bunch of O Canada coins, under release price no bids. They also had 5 rolls of pennies start at $9.99 with no takers. Looking at Completed auctions is like half go unsold. Any one notice this trend? Rox
