Touch and handle is great - so get a proof ASE and also a bullion one she can handle. It will also help her later understand the difference between proof and circulated.

I am probably late to answering this question butheres my thoughts.

First of all, congrats! I hope everything went well and I wish your daughter good health and a good future going forward.

Now, as far as coins, I would like to suggest any coin with an animal. My suggestion would be-

1- A silver panda coin
2- Somalian Elephant
3- Aussie Koala
4- ANY of the Canadian wildlife 1 oz silver coins.

Animals will leave a HUGE impression on kids, and they will NEVER forget the detail, captivated by it at a young age.

Finally, I say, besides gifting one of those, I highly suggest giving also a silver 1 oz proof silver eagle, with its regal and beautiful presenation, I mean who can say the velet blue case isn't stunning with the proof coin inside....
