thusdayclub Valued Member Poland 263 Posts	Posted 03/25/2013 5:31 pm Hello. What do you think about this half dollar? I do not know the diameter, weight and response of the magnet. As soon as I find out I will let you know. I think date looks weird - space between 1 and 8 is huge. If it's original, how you estimate the value of this coin? Thanks for help. I'm not an expert on counterfeits but I would think that if it was fake it wouldn't have the edge lettering. There are 15 varieties of the 1818 and the O115 is one of two considered very scarce. The rarity rating is R5 which means there are an estimated 31-80 surviving specimens. Whether or not this would add to the value would depend if a buyer was a variety collector.
