Hello professionals, I recently came across some fairly old U.S. coins that my grandma had since she was a little girl, and which had survived her childhood house fire. I don't know anything about old currency. I am building a small display box to keep these coins in, and would like to possibly know what I have. These silver dollars are heavy in weight, and fairly thick, the dates are
1900 with an O mint mark, 1904 with an S mint mark, 1921 no mint mark, 1922 can't locate mint mark. I have a number of the coins all ranging in the same dates. I don't think they are worth a significant amount of money, would just like to know if they are fair collectors. I was also wondering if I should remove the tarnish or leave them originally aged? Thanks for any help.

Hello and to the community.

We will be glad to help you with your coins but we will need pictures to do that. You can post pictures of your coins in the Classic coin section. Try to only post one or two coins at a time, it's easier to ID them that way.
Rest in Peace

Fist Do not clean the coins!! You could really do more harm than good.
Sounds like you have a combination of Morgan and Peace dollars. As a start you can click on US Coin Facts or History located on the left of this page to see what type of silver dollars you have. One of the best books to start is called the Red Book "A Guide Book of United States coins" by R.S. Yeoman. Any good book store will have it. You can also post pictures here for the members to help give you a grade. Good luck.
There are a lot of professionals here but not me.
Rest in Peace

Don't clean them, please. Cleaned coins are considered to be damaged coins and diminished in value.
