I spent $12 in twos on some socks and shirts to donate to a charity bowling event. The cashier asked her manager if the store could take the twos, and he said yes. He said "Haven't you ever seen a $2 bill before?" She replied "Yeah, but I didn't know we could actually take them." I quipped with "They're Legal Tender..."

$14,678 to go.

I spent $6 in twos at a Papa Gino's to buy an Italian sub with chips and a drink. Later on, I spent $6 in twos at a self-service car wash bay (the bill acceptor says "Accepts $1's and $5's," but I've washed my car here enough times to know that the acceptor also takes $2's). Finally, I used $8 in twos to gain entry into a car museum. The cashier said he never saw $2's before, so I brought up the BEP's website on my iPhone to prove their authenticity to him.

And on Sunday, I spent $8 in twos to help pay for a pizza and breadsticks. This is $28 total in twos.

$14,606 to go.

I put a single $2 in a donation jar for my high school's marching band fundraiser. Later on, I exchanged $12 in twos to another person in line who noticed I was holding one while I was waiting to purchase a burger from a food truck. Then, I paid $6 in twos to take part in a charity car smash. In all, this is $20 in twos.

$14,574 to go.

Just noticed this thread. I regularly spend a lot of $2 bills so I plan to post here in the future.

Fun fact though. I wouldn't be surprised if my small city (34K people) specifically has one of the highest $2 bill circulation rates per capita in the country. Why would I think that? Well about two years ago we had a very popular strip club come into town and it absolutely flooded this area with $2 bills. I regularly receive them as tips at the restaurant I work at. Its actually educated a lot of people, many whom have hoarded these bills from circulation like the rest of the country, that this STILL is a circulating bill that is not necessarily rare and is still being made by the government.

I find it interesting that it took a strip club to bring this bill back into a small circulating status in my town.
