I looked through my hoarded (oh dear) 99.9% nickel rolls to try and fill up my new nickel album, and I had accidentally put a 1970 in a roll... it's now in my album, but the next one I find is going on the bottom of my new 1970-only nickel roll...

Found a 1954 for my daughter's penny book so now I'm really hoping to find George V's but have only found one so far through CRH. Counted up my extra earlier date pennies not in books from CRH and a bunch I picked up from my dad's collection: 46 1940's, 113 1950's, 182 from 1960-1964 and 81 1967 centennials.

Went through 30 rolls of nickels and 9 rolls of dimes. Found 87 1981 and before including a 1967 centennial, 1961, 1960, 1955, 1950, 1949 and 5 cents from Bermuda. Also got an original shrink wrapped roll of 2011's so I will keep that.

In the dimes I found a silver 1968 so I may try for more rolls next time.

So just Canadian stuff. Penny's, 1937 and all years over. Nickles, 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941 and then all the years after the tombac one's, except for 1948. Dimes, 1949, 1956, 1960, 1961 and all the rest of the 60's. I've never roll hunted quarters ever since I read some guys article about how he went through 20 boxes and got "0" silver coins.

Woohoo! After much comparison and more than a little eyestrain with my crappy magnifying glass, I believe I found a 1953 NSF NEAR nickel!

Cancel that. Although the I's are flared, it seems the leaf is not really all that "near". Just got a little over-excited maybe.

Did 19 rolls of dimes and 49 rolls of pennies today. The RBC near my place keeps giving me all their pennies so I keep taking them. Notable finds were another type 2 blank small cent planchet and a 1963 dime. Also had one roll of pennies with 41 coppers out of 50.

Just went through a roll and it consisted entirely of nickel and cupro-nickel nickels! Think I saved one that was destined for the alloy recovery program.

Went through 14 rolls of dimes and 20 rolls of nickels. The dimes were bank wrapped rolls and I only found a 5 cent Cuban coin. In the nickels found 58 1981 and before including a 1941.

Thanks. Went through 20 rolls of dimes today. Wanted nickels but they didn't have any so I'm starting to order in boxes now. They were bank wrapped rolls so I wasn't expecting any silver but I managed to find a 1970 which is nice.

Went through all my nickels and organized them by year instead of just 100 to a bag (1 pound). Pulled out 2 1970's. Went to the bank today and picked up some nickel, dime and quarter rolls. Nothing in the dime rolls. Pulled out a few interesting quarters and some pre 1982 nickels. Going on the advice of many that it's good to keep the tellers happy I gave the teller a 1967 rabbit nickel. Not sure if she liked it or not but it can't hurt.

Oh...and I found $1.20 in the coinstar machine. A loonie was wedged in the intake against 2 nickels and they left a dime in the basket :).

Went through 9 rolls of pennies, 10 rolls of quarters and a box of nickels. Found some copper and kept a couple commemorative quarters. The box of nickels was more than half white paper bank wrapped rolls but I was surprised to see a young elizabeth staring back from the end of one. Yield was a little low finding 158 1981 and before but it included a 1970 and a 1932. I actually need the 1932 because the first one I got was a Far 2 and now I have the much more common Near 2 variation as well. Also found 2 1991's.

Where do you get all these pennies? I'm still looking for King George V on anything (although when my father was young in the 70s, he found a very worn Edwardian dime!)...
