I have a little over 100 of those pinchers and still use them to build rolls with. With the varied thickness of coins the count isn't always correct, sometimes more somtimes less. I got 14 of them yesterday in that box.

So I went through the 14 penny pincher rolls and they were all mixed but from the same jar/stash. Two 1982 were the newest penny.

Picked up a bag and 100 rolls (150 rolls) of pennies. The finds aren't as good as they could have been because the majority of the cents I searched had been messed with. They all had weird toning and damage from some kind of chemical. Older finds were: 1942(2), 1943(2), 1945, 1946(2), 1947ML(2), 1949, 1950(2), 1951(4), 1953(2), 1955(2), 1956, 1957(7), 1958(4), and 1959(4). Unfortunately a lot of those are getting dumped because they are not worth keeping. Found a 1 Euro Cent, three UK Pennies (1977, 1987, 2005), a 1985 one cent from Barbados, and an interesting 1966 one cent from Trinidad and Tobago. Also found 2 play cents with one being plastic and the other one being the most interesting find because it is almost identical to a penny (size, metal content) except it has a maple leaf on one side and the other side says "PLAY MONEY" with a large 1 in the middle. Don't feel like taking a picture but I found a link to an identical example: http://www.delcampe.net/page/item/i...guage,E.html

Thanks for sharing all the great finds! This weekend I picked up five roles of customer wrap nickles.and three of the rolls were completely Pre 2001! Of the 4 2001's I had one was a no"P". Two Us nickles one Cuban 10 centavos and the oldest nickle was a 1959. A good weekend to me!

wolfman-11, that "red" 1985 5-cent you posted last month is fascinating. It is not a plating error (Cu-Ni alloy) and looks fully struck in collar.
Has anyone ever taken a closer look at that one?

Most of this hoard is still in my basement... bought these ceramic pots and buckets full of pennies back in 2011, and have not gone through them yet. In a few handfuls, it looks like there are no coins newer than 1964, lots of mint state coins here too...

Another box of dimes, and George showed up this time! The really rusty one is 2002, I have never seen one so bad. SPP-Ottawa: The red nickel does have silver colour in patches, I will take some better photos later and put it in my album.

Wow nice finds! I wish I had as much luck as you, I went and got 10 more rolls of dimes, bringing my total up to 50 rolls of dimes searched, and nothing to show -_-

Went through 40 rolls of nickels, 20 of them have been already searched, as they were marked so that was no fun. 10 of the rolls were full of nickel nickels, about 50% of them were nickel nickels. The other ten rolls were a mix of Americans, Canadians, and some foreign coins, and a penny. I found a 1946 american nickel, a 1995 penny, a 1976 10 Austrian groschen, 10 Cuban pesos, and 10 euros. They were quite interesting finds.

Wolfman-11 â€" Great silver finds!
Finally finished my first box. Total summary (including my midway post): A handful from the '60s, oldest being 1963 (no George or 12-sided) Upgrades for my set â€" 1987, a nice centennial (the only '67 in the whole box), and a really nice 1988 $3.65 American â€" Keepers being 1939, 1946, 1949D, 1963D, and a 1980D in good shape Only about 10 of the 2005 VE nickels â€" I am trying to save up a bunch of those for my trip to Europe on VE day A Canadian dime and a 2004 Euro 5 cent. I have no Idea how these got in because every roll was machine wrapped, but sure, whatever.
Not very good for a first box, but decent considering that it was all machine wrapped and fun nonetheless. I was able to build 8 full rolls of nickel and cupronickel nickels, not including ones from the '70s and before in nice shape that I put in a jar. I am also currently selecting the best 2013s and 2014s to make a full roll. Nickels seem to be my best bet in the future to CRH boxes of, but I don't think I'll have the time to search boxes again, or it will take almost a month like it did.
Edit: forgot about the mint marks for American nickels.

Just went through 40 rolls of nickels and 10 rolls of dimes. Still no keepers from the dimes, as for nickels, found one 2000p nickel, three rolls worth of nickel nickels, half a dozen of young queen rounded and twelve sided, and a 1947 maple leaf nickel.

Finally looked through two rolls of toonies I took out the last week of December. I organized by date and found a hole filler 2003 old portrait and maybe 1 more hole filler (I forget), but since I have found them in circulation anyways. I also saved up every 1996 toonie I got for the last few weeks to try and identify any German planchets. Some of the circulated ones are hard to tell, but I got at least one easily recognizable that I saved. I hope some 2015 coins start showing up soon; by past observations, they usually appear around here starting May.
