Just curious. Why they skip the the summer coin. Is it suppose like: Spring-Summer-Fall-Winter?

Quote: Why they skip the the summer coin. I believe they use this logic in order to extend the series over the time, creation of expectation, and not to "finish" it quickly. This allows to run multiple series in parallel, without making "heavy damage" to customer wallet. The same was for Coloured Maple Leaf special edition 2001-2004 (Seasons)

Master club members with reps received advanced notice of the new releases one day before they are available to regular MC members. If we want the coins we have to place orders through the reps, not online.
We got emails with pictures of coins today. Regular MC members can see them Wednesday Interesting... So that should be even more secretive and the RCM police should be all over the fact that RFD is posting pictures. How is it that THEY get away with it?

Why do you think "they are getting away with it"?
The mint set up some rules - with regards to the Masters' Club, and if you spend enough money, they treat you a little bit better. Big deal. You too can spend more money, get a rep, and join the exclusivity of the Master's Club. It's no different than Price Club, or Sams or any other number of places. The benefits are simply a weeks advance notice and ability to order, and free shipping.
I just don't understand that what all the fuss is about. Your choice - spend, and become a member, or Don't.
If your concern is over RFD's ability to post pics... well, that forum is not an organized forum such as this. This forum has requested to abide by the Mint's requirements of not posting prior to public release date. Pretty simple actually.

RFD is not a "coin" forum. It is one thread in Personal Finance that people express about their numismatic coin investment/collection. There are no coin dealers pay to have their present in RFD where as here, there are various coin dealers that paid/sponsor CCF. So it is understandable that CCF would listen to their needs/demands or help enforce certain rules that would affect these dealers ability to sell the coins.

I am appalled by your lack of concern regarding the less fortunate who could at least have preview of what's coming. Secrecy could help coin flippers for sure. The fact that RMC policing postings and pictures has no bearing on the ability to purchase the coins from whomever. Limits can be imposed on quantities, that way smaller collectors can critique, discuss and participate... and perhaps get their hands on the coins before all the "dealers and flippers" suck them all up. If you think dealers have greater impact than collectors and contributors for this hobby than maybe its time some of us to move on.

I think the policing of releasing early picture is a way for RCM to reward its MC Member and elite member. So if you spend more than $1000 buying from RCM and not affiliated dealers, you get a two weeks window to have a peak at the new release. If you spend enough to be an elite MC, you get to see it a day before the reg MC. It's a reward system. Having people posting these pictures on coin forums sorta nullify their reward system.

Reward? What's the reward? A feeling of superiority because we see the coins before everyone else? IMO, there is no good justification for the secrecy. MC and elite MC (for lack of a better descriptor) can still have a week or a few days to place advance orders. Having the coins appear here or anywhere else on the internet or at post offices doesn't effect that 'reward' at all. I don't see any drawback for the Mint to have open and early communication about upcoming releases. Marketers call it creating buzz. I have not idea what the Mint considers the disadvantage of having US promote THEIR product. It is also unrealistic of them to think that the coin images won't be seen. Maybe not on this forum but they are out there on other forums, on ebay and other sites long before they hit general release. It's just plain stupid but it is what it is. /end rant.

Back to the coin. I think it would not be as "bad" if the branches are not look as though they are chopped off

cc: Not a big deal, as long as we can control it.... I just don't want the thread to be locked.
My comment on the August Release regarding this Autumn Maple Canopy coin: I totally agree that the Autumn Maple Canopy design is not up to par, compare to the Spring coin. Mainly the truncation of the maple branches, too many thin/small but dense branches squeezed in a tinier space make it look un-natural, like a mesh.
Conclusion: Order 3 to keep up & cross my finger, hoping it look better in hand (like the Autumn one, which caught everyone by surprise).

^^ why put a border on this one and no boreder on the other one? it ruins the uniform look of the series in my opinion.
