Speaking of art, obviously, sarcasm is a lost art when it comes to the internet...

Those who complain about flipping on the NCLT forum should go the Canadian Coins, Banknotes, and paper Money forum. It is dead as a door nail there.

Wow.

Let's just be clear that supporting two sections is actually inclusive and supportive of both types of discussion.

What is ditzing the remainder of the forum?

I agree with you poboxw too but would you rather it be like the aussie section where you get only 1 or 2 post every 3 days

I think the Aussie NCLT part of the forum is quiet mainly because there are not that may Aussie collectors of NCLT coins.
I however DO collect NCLT but I prefer to wait a couple of years and let the dust settle before buying.
I don't think there is a culture of flipping/value adding in the Aussie NCLT camp.

trout: I think your strategy is a good one, but you do need to keep a record of Mint information published on the coins you may consider to buy in the after market. That being the case, it would be good to have an honest reference library of past issues of the Coin $ Banknote Magazine.

Quite often, the previously issued NCLT product that you may consider is featured on the front cover; that would make searching through past issues easier.

"Researchers at the University of California at San Francisco recently found that people with frontotemporal dementia have difficulty detecting sarcasm. Neuropsychologist Katherine Rankin has suggested that a loss of the ability to pick up on sarcasm could be used as an early warning sign to help diagnose the disease."

as the starter of the RFD thread, I have something to say.

1... I consider it an honour to have my thread mentioned in a coin forum. :)

2... when I started the thread, most of the people there were new to coin collecting. That thread continues to evolve and god knows where it will end up. As it for now, considering it's on Finance forum, it makes sense for it to be more about "financial sense" than coin collecting.

3... I came here and started posting because I want to know more about coins, and frankly I ignore threads about people not talking about anything but coins.

I think mod here should try to make some of the topics more "on topic", do we need 3253 threads about how 1 coin got sold out in hours after release?
