Quote: Canada post is the mint's biggest client Exactly, but CP simply should not be the Mint's biggest client. Kind of like Future Shop and Best Buy. Same company located 100 feet appart. Why is that? Same idea with the Canadian Tire's Forzani group of sports stores. IMO, CP should be used by the RCM to ship coins. Not divert profits to them by creating a false middle man especially for on-line and telephone sales. I will conceed that in store sales at CP are a benefit because they provide access in remote areas but I'm sure it also hurts actual coin stores in larger centres.

It's just sour grapes. I didn't get any coins this month. But I am not going to blame anyone else, especially GW. If anyone wants a glass coin they can order the regular colorized version and then buy a glass insect and glue it on themselves. You can get a cheap glass butterfly from any discount store or you can go high end if you like. Maybe you can find a nice antique one at a flea market. The guy who did the gold plated pennies will probably have them available in faux RCM packaging any day now.

CP has always sold coins before public release. Last year there were no limits on the bumble bee coin.

I don't know why you people keep saying the mint controls prices for dealers they absolutely DO NOT they can set their own price right from the start if they do prove it if not quit whining about it, they are private business's they can do what they want as you have seen. Do I like it of course not.Can you do anything about it? Yes don't buy from them.

@silverrocket - But this time they presold so many and released release dates. I do not know for the bumble bee if they released the release dates for the web. Things will more likely change for CP like not being aloud at all to pre sell coins.

It's not 'sour grapes'. I ordered the limits of most of the new coins. It's about ensuring that the RCM works towards a fair system in the future. They really need to get their act together. Seems like toronto1 is back.

My point is that there RCM phone lines need an overhaul of how to handle orders. 1. Advance MC emails given to MC members with reps are 1 day in advance of MC. Normal MCs should not be allowed to call in to the phone lines to order the new release. This jump in the queue is unfair to those that don't follow very closely and/or decide to respect the queue 2. MC release should only be ordered if the purchase is from an MC account. I've heard time and time again that non-MCs ordering during the MC phase. Again, this jump in the queue gives current MC members no advantages. There is a problem in releasing images and info before the advanced MC notice... but the larger problem is how the ordering in both CP and RCM is happening.

Lots of upset people writeing bad reviews on the mints website in the glass butterfly section.....one MC Club member 3 years in a row didnt get his glass coin...that sucks
I think there needs to be a couple changes includeing a limit of "one" hot coin per person......however I'm fairly new to coins and NOT a mc club member, and I had no issues getting the canopy and butterfly at issue price from other sources.....therefor a part of me thinks that maybe some people are'nt trying hard enough to get there issue price hot coins?
Eitherway I'm the newbie & what Do I know.....lol
Just my 2 cents.....cheers,WJ

I agree with CC-Ottawa. I have no sour grapes. I ordered exactly what I wanted and when I wanted it. I just feel that the whole process can be improved. What's the point of having rules if they aren't being followed?

Yes exactly you got one others obviously don't care that much to do the research involved they just figure they are entitled to it.

You have to remember it was mostly bought out by MC members with reps. My rep told me that they had like 400 clients each and they allowed me to buy 3 coins. That limit gets eaten up pretty fast. The solution is simple, spend more money and get a rep. My rep told me a day before that the coin was coming out. Complaining about the Mint selling system is like complaining to American Express about not having the same benefits on your gold card as the black card. You have to spend money to get the benefits you think you deserve.

speaking of limits for hot coins, I think Perth Mint does best: limit of 1 until a certain date (4-5 days after release) and no limits after.

Don't know about that... getting shipped "Metal samples" then having to chase CBSA for customs refund isn't fun.
