I have never been charged extra for coins shipped from there and I have bought hundreds of coins from them in the past but I know I have been very lucky because I have heard of it happening to many others. I was more talking about the time frame for their shipping usually ships in a week or less

When all you produce are stickers on flat silver coins it's pretty easy to manufacture quickly.

Will desagree.
If you do not want to collect their "stickers", just avoid buying purely colored coins.
Their other production - silver and colorized items are good, not all, the same as for our Mint. Need to define what do you want to collect.

Yes I have bought from british mint before very good service and nice coins at times. Not a lot there for my tastes but I did get lots of john lennon coins when they came out they were very popular and profitable

@Silveroid, Sorry was being a little facetious. I do like some Perth stuff (love the Red-back spider!) but I've been feeling like they rehash the same theme a little too much. I thought I would really like the Dragons of Legend, but was quite disappointed with the final result. Had to finish that series though.

Quote:The RCM should product with no limit to keep the flippers away... So then, we will be able to know the exact quantity when the Annual Financial results is launch. After couple of month came back to normal mintage... The hoard of flippers will then go away... For the long term, the RCM have better interest to keep the real collector then the flippers who create a fake market demand and will go away once there will be not enough money to do... Absoulutely Not! Unlimited mintages would make them valueless pieces of metal. That is what happended to the 1990's card boom. They printed millions of cards, killing the hobby. Or like collecting stamps, they made millions of them and they are only good for postage.

 I remember the sport card boom and bust. They were selling boxed for double and triple retail and now you can get them for a few bucks. The card makers cut their own throats.

In a way, the Mint is increasing production by releasing a lot of different coins.

Many, many, many of those coins are garbage and don't sell well. Like the 1812 silver dollars and the ice breaker coin and the lucky loony being released after the Olympics. If you bought every coin the released last year and tried to sell them now you would loose money.

 99% of coins do not sell out in one hour. Changing the Mint's release policies based on one coin is very short sighted. Most coins released this year have been duds. How many hits have we had with the Jan/Feb releases? Maybe the duck subs? The Dino2 was certainly a dud. Look what happen with the extra 5000 coins released. Even though the Dino 2 is sold out, you could get it close to list everywhere. Do we really want to increase the mintage of the glass bug coins, simply because of some whiners who were not able to get them. I can't stand the whining because there were plenty of opportunites to get them at list. The coins even came back on the Mint site the night of the first day. Not to mention CP and CDNcoin.

@Hobbes
It's ok, just wanted to correct, that not all their coins are painted.
Feel the same about exploiting by Perth / NZ Mint the idea of the putting the picture on the silver round.

Here just some: 1 Penny Special Wrap Roll 25-yrs Annyversary Maple Leaf 1oz O Canada Subsription Why Dyno2 is a dude? Maybe some people bought too much and try to sell it? I have one in collection and it feels well with Dyno1, the second is on the shelf of my son with other dyno toys... If Dyno2 will repeat the story of the 2009 Summer Moon Mask (dude for 2009), it certanly will be a "hit" in the future. Everything isn't so bad. But I agree with the fact that Mint doesn't need to produce unlimited mintages, and it better if it will reduce the variety of the production.

I thought the Dino2 was good. Easy money. The penny rolls were good. The 25th Anniversary SML has been a flop. And that shows nobody wants old school type collectibles from the RCM. People look to RCM for gimmicks not history. As for limited versus unlimited mintages, it doesn't matter. Limited mintage ( RCM) makes it easy for lazy people. Unlimited mintage requires some thinking to pick out the best coins, but the profits are much greater (because you can buy all you want).

Hits? Here just some: 1 Penny Special Wrap Roll - GOOD PROFIT BUT ONLY ONE PER CUSTOMER - LOW PROFIT POTENTIAL 25-yrs Annyversary Maple Leaf - DUD - SELLING FOR $120 ON ebay1oz O Canada Subsription - DUD - SELLING AT ISSUE PRICE ON ebay AND NO BOX - NO FLIPPING POTENTIAL. 2013 Glow In The Dark Dino selling for $20 to $40. DUD!! Just because a coin sells out does not mean it has profit potential for flippers, just a profit for the Mint. Far to many coins this year were looser and over hyped coins.
