Curious. My guess is it isn't a coin, but a coin weight. It's not official because, as far as I know, those issued by The Royal Mint said so.

AR should signify silver (argent), so a weight for a silver coin? Presumably of 125 grains in weight. Unfortunately I don't know of any Victorian silver coins of this weight!

125 gr is however just over 8 grammes, the weight of a sovereign ...

(..just thinking out loud here. Maybe someone else will know!)

Looks to be a standard card counter, readily available, possibly hand stamped as a ticket or check. I've just weighed a similar uniface Victorian counter at 3.9 gr.
