This thread seemed very helpful and educational to a lot of people, including myself.

Would somebody make this thread a "sticky note"? Thank you all for your input.

Oh, and "Welcome new member!"

I just registered at Heritage and I don't see any mention of a "my collection" feature....Is this something they stopped doing?

Ordered Numismatist's notebook based on the recommendations on here and I like it. FYI the price is now $7.95 for it, but worth it.

The shareware version usually worlkd only for a limited time, either a certain number of days or a certain number of use time. The purchased version is yours to keep, no restrictions.

Thanks mila, for that price I might give it a shot. I was really interestes in Coin Manage but its a little pricy.

I installed the program last night and it took 44 minutes and used 3.72GB of disk space. That is a full install with all the country's installed.

I also have Exact Change; I really think it is a worthwhile program. Very easy to use, very intuative controls etc. It's reports feature is great and customizable. I am still in the process of adding coins and medals and this will take considerable time but I think it is great overall. I have used Coin Manage and another program in the past and althugh Coin Manage is nice as well as the other program I used Exact Change is at the head of the class so to speak. For me a great selling point is that a collector can add coins or medals that are not in the original database or in any other program I have ever seen. In my case I can add my Schützenfest medal collection as easy as can be and the program accepts them just like any "coin" and looks as though it came that way.

A very good program with excellent manufacturer help and updates. It is more than most but it IS more than most.

IMOH Exact Change is the best coin collecting software you can purchase. I would say a database would be next or best yet if you are very good at designing databases, how many of us are? Excel is also very good but does not have quite the power of a database. Ken's spreadsheet is great since it is free and he has been so gracious to offer it's use to members here. A spreadsheet just does not have the bells and whistles etc. as a designed program but it is also fully capable depending on your needs.

Give Exact Change a look, I don't believe you will be disappointed but you will have a little less money in your wallet

Well I have been working with the program now for a couple of day. I must say that it is the best coin collecting program I have ever used. It is so easy to enter my coins including my world coins. It is the first program the includes world coins. The program is shipped with many reports but it also includes a report writer program. This makes creating and customizing the report so easy. I am very pleased with this program. I must say that it is total worth the money in my opinion.
