i3eyond New Member United States 18 Posts	Posted 04/05/2013 08:01 am Seems to demonstrate some doubled dies on the stars. On the 1879, it appears that the 9 isn't as raised as the 187-. I've got to invest in something to magnify these coins; hard to see without some help! Report this Post to the Staff

Unless its some sort of rare VAM in that case I have no idea Try looking up some of your coins on here for their value http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/fmv.shtml Also this http://www.pcgs.com/photograde/ will help you get an idea of what the grade might be. Most Morgans are extremely common; some few dates/mint marks are rare and valuable(1889-CC, 1893-S, for example). Others have great value in higher grades, but not in circulated grades (1884-S). Your 1879-S is common in that configuration - there are no valuable varieties for it - but there's a second reverse type which is rarer and of added value. Report this Post to the Staff
