1955 Doubled Die Help? Found Metal Detecting

The bust of Lincoln does not look right, nor does the doubling in "LIBERTY." However, higher-definition pictures would certainly help. Report this Post to the Staff
WJeeda Valued Member United States 132 Posts	Posted 04/06/2013 4:11 pm Perhaps you could also put it in acetone for a minute or so to get more dirt off. And, that might show other signs for or against the coin being a genuine doubled die. Report this Post to the Staff

The way the date is doubled is different as well. Not that I would suggest throwing it away based on this post Deserves to be investigated. Report this Post to the Staff

Get in touch with one of the Lincoln Cent variety experts first and ask if they would look at it for you. Then wait and go from there. Do not send it out to any TPG at the moment. The current posted pics. are not clear enough to define this coin exactly. Report this Post to the Staff
