I did a little CRH'ing during my lunch break today and got $10 in dimes. I was very excited to find a 1944 Mercury but also found something else interesting...a 2007 P where the edge is smooth along the outer border. I did a web search and it looks like I may not be the only one. Is this a common error?

Hi, it's just dryer damage. Not a common house hold one, a different kind of dryer. This is very common on 1993 coins by the way.

Welcome to CCF!
Rest in Peace

It's really hard to tell what it is without a photo. Please post several photos including the edge that is smooth.

Just curious. What makes you say that 1993 coins are more likely to get into a dryer and become a Dryer Coin than other coins?

I also think that a few pics of the coin first
would help. Need to see if the reeding is completely
missing and also if the coin was an off center strike
or a misaligned die strike. I have found many broadstruck
clad roosevelt's over the years. May be one, may not.

@KisNap, because I have seen more 1993 dryer damaged than any other date. It's like 90% of the time the rim is round it's dryer damage. I have been reading information about it and from other coin sites.
