Quote: The eagle coin will definitely look better in hand than the mint picture. I hope so, because I wouldn't have guessed "bald eagle" from the images on the RCM website. The RCM's recent small gold coin appears to have a more accurate depiction of a North American Bald Eagle.

So much symbolism in the Bald Eagle coin! I like the lettering on the edge too...
I happy with the fact, that I have power to limit my self and not to buy it, since it (the design of Eagle's head) doesn't really fit to mine selected themes.

I agree that this head only image isn't the greatest. With the proper engraving though I'm sure it will look much better than the picture. Although this image isn't the best, this is a bald eagle series and I'm sure other images in flight or even swooping in for prey would be amazing and well sought after. I'd hate to miss on this one and then pay secondary market pricing to complete the series for this coin in the future.

Regarding to the butterfly, I picked the silver butterfly over the plated one, because the silver one specifically says that the butterfly is engraved, so is the flower: "... features an engraved and coloured Canadian tiger swallowtail butterflyâ€"a harbinger of springâ€"resting on an engraved dandelion."
But the plated one only says it is coloured: "features a colourful Canadian tiger swallowtail butterflyâ€"a harbinger of springâ€"resting on a yellow dandelion"
Also containing precious metal and lower mintage made the silver one more attractive (to me at least). Just my 2 cents.

Can't believe it went to "Awaiting Stock" in less than 2 1/2 hours. Dealers must have gobbled these up.

design is very PLAIN on the eagle IMO. Thats why I didnt get it. The mintage and price are decent for re-sale, probably explains why its sold out so fast. Will probably re-sell for $150 after sold out, with a limit of 2, its not worth the hassle for me.
Wish I could afford the 5oz and the 1kg, now those look amazing. Especially the 1kg

My rep told me yesterday that the eagle coin is forecast to sell out at the end of today.
The next to sell out most likely will be the blessings gold coin.
The Gold-plated ML is now down to 55.

I don't like the eagle much. $100 for it is not a good price tag for me personally. Anyone buying the hologram coin? I think it looks nice.

for the first time of this year, I didn't buy anything:). the eagle looks more like a big mouth chicken IMO after comparing to discovering nature 50 cents.

@SilverBug: Your right. It does look like a ugly big mouth chicken.
