50,000 coin issue.

Yes, but it doesn't mean that all 50K will be struck.
Secondary, RCM doesn't sell all the coins.

I am so excited to get these! I hope they keep this series on the rails, unlike the $20/$20. No advertising other products with these, please.

This 100 4 100 series has a name, unlike the endless 20 4 20, the theme is restricted to "Wildlife in Motion"

If people are hoarding three or even up to 10 (from mint reps), hoping for a good profit, then expect a good number to be struck, possibly even selling out....

I am not sure why there are three thread of "100 for $100" because they are all repeative.
Those that like it will buy it and point out the following:
- help get Mc status quicker
- no risk ($100 FV)
- have increase potential
- have a theme and not bad looking coin

Those that won't buy it and don't like the coin will state the following:
- high mintage
- Too pricy for the amount of metal
- plain design, nothing special
- does bank take it? is it worth the trouble to try to deposit it back to the bank and blah blah blah

I am sure it will repeat once the next $100 for $100 or $20 for $20 coin release. I don't think either camp will able to convince the other camp to switch over any time soon

The Buffalo has always had special meaning for western First Nations peoples This animal was in essence the basis for their survival. The rare "White Buffalo" was and is considered sacred.

Unfortunately, the Bison were almost hunted to extinction during the last quarter of the 19th century. This resulted in near starvation for many western plains natives, primarily the nations of the Blackfoot Confederacy and the Cree nation.

Traditionally, the natives used every part of these animals, including the hides and bones. Before disaster struck, millions of these beasts roamed free and nothing was wasted.

Most if not all of the excessive hunting was done by white and Metis hunters for profit and "fun". For example, famous American frontiersman "Buffalo Bill Cody was witnessed killing over 500 bison in one day, just to show off his shooting prowess. The carcasses were let to rot!

All this to say that these coins represent more than just just the magnificence of the Buffalo. They also reflect a sad chapter in Canadian and American history. There is a lesson to be learned for the future as well.

Fortunately, our First Nations peoples and the Buffalo are still here.

I very much like the look of those running buffalo on the new $100 for $100 coins and for me and obviously they have a special significance. I think these coins will prove to be popular and will increase in value over time. (But if they don't, I don't care.)

Means that the coin only can be bought through a phone call.

And also, it means that the represenants will ear a lot more in commissions ...

Well, I gave the Mint a call just to see what's happening. After waiting a half hour on the phone, I found out that the $100 bison is now SOLD OUT, but they MIGHT be getting in more. They are compiling a waiting list for those who... ahem.... missed out...!

Wow, am I ever glad I got mine yesterday! Kudos for the speculators who felt this coin was a no brainer...

Oh, and to those of you who thought this coin was silly, overpriced, will never go anywhere, etc. or passed on it.....

Good success for good item.

But usually such sellouts happens due to will of some people to make a quick profit on new product.
I saw many of them on the ebay yesterday...

I think every one who wanted this coin for their collection - ordered it.
Do not know how many coins the series will include, seems to be nice set.

Box....we will look for it too
