Ok, brace yourselves... just out of curiousity, I called Canada Post philatelic center to see if they are selling the $100 bison coin. Yes they are, but they won't take any orders until June 26th.. limit 5 coins... nothing exciting there... ok, now for the amazing part...ahem... Canada Post will be charging a premium of $25 for each coin! First time ever! So each coin will be $125! Might be a good idea to try CP outlets, but I imagine they will say the same thing or something similar... This will be a winner series...!!

Ugh, I'm not too bright! Hummed and hawed over this one, called them just now and got put on the waitlist. For those slow people like me, Colonial Acres is taking pre-orders at $119.95. Better than the $125 CP is going to charge.

Thanks much NuMoosematist! Love that name, BTW!
@ rp14, you're right about CP's premium on the $20 for $20's. But the $100 coin is still only one coin. So a $25 premium on one coin is pretty hefty.
@ thehulk, I think gatewestcoin.com sells it for $114.95 and it's in stock...
BTW, the $20 wolf coin is now awaiting stock.

Margins vs dollar value, in the same statement, you wouldn't want to be selling something for $5.95 extra for something that's worth a lot.
In the end, as long as its an acceptable margin that a customer is willing to pay, the percentages are just that, percentages.

Colonial Acres had 25 for pre sale yesterday , now down to 20 remaining. Dont wait too long if your thinking of ordering from them, I give it 2 days tops and the pre sales will be sold. maybe less.

Doesn't really matter if you get it at the coin dealer or canada post! Canada post is $5-10 more but you get free shipping. Coin dealers are slightly cheaper but charge shipping of $6.50-$15

There are better ways to circumvent the shipping if you know how to play your cards right and get them shipped from the Mint. =)
