But wait guys... I see Silvertowne say its "an exclusive" but no where does it state they commissioned it... and wouldn't they want to tell everyone about this, a feather in their cap, if that was the case?

I don't think the RCMint would allow them to say that.
Universal Coins did not say that they commissioned the Cartier coin a couple of years back even though you can only buy it from them.
This major Canadian dealer does not have any eagles to offer. However, they told me that they would the ones coming back from the American dealer.
Silvertowne is very strong in marketing. I do not have any doubts that they would be able to sell out their coins.
So the question is, would it be difficult to get the other three coins of the series.

Since #1 of the series was for sale from the mint, isn't it safe to assume the others in the series will also be up for sale from the RCM?

My question is now, how "authentic" is this coin? Yes the RCM made it,,,, sold it on their site... but is this perhaps watered down? thoughts?

Maybe he mean is it legal Tender or not?
I would assume there's nothing wrong with these coins and it would be the same as any other numis coin

What is a SilverTowne Exclusive?
- SilverTowne "trademark" items that are custom minted at the SilverTowne Mint specifically for sale through our own retail and wholesale channels.
- Coins that are produced by worldwide mints for which SilverTowne is the exclusive direct-from-the-mint dealer in the United States.
They are only selling the coins for the mint NOWHERE DOES IT STATE IT IT THEIR COMMISSIONED COIN. If it was their coin they sure got a very small alotment of them less than 1000 of them which is not right because any commissioned coin you must take 75% of mintage per mint rules.

Clearly it is not even an exclusive for them - lots of other dealers are selling it. They had exactly 14% of the mintage (1050 of 7500) for sale. A decent number for sure so maybe they suggested the coin series and the RCM gave them a good allocation but I seriously doubt it was commissioned. I think the same could be said for Cdn Coins and the beavers/5oz Coronation coin. There is a big difference between inspiring/suggesting a design and commissioning a coin.

It could just mean the are the "exclusive" (as the only authorized) dealer/distributor in USA (per elkslayer132's post). A marketing tool they are using.

Yea I am thinking about stepping away from this one, I feel like this is just a pure marketing ploy and as such I think I am going to wait and see wehre prices go on this one.
I wanted one but I lost interest in the manner its being pushed by Silvertowne.. how "exclusive" is it when everyone else has it?

Prices on ebay falling. Glad I didn't buy any. Ugly coin. I think a lot of Masters club members got caught up in the hype when the first day the reps were all telling everyone it was 94% sold out. lol

thank you for everyone and their discussion about this coin, I learned a lot and it helped me cool my jets for wanting to add this coin to the collection.

It's too early to talk about the investment of this coin.
About the design, all have been already said.

The reason why this coin was sold out early could be because of Silvertowne "exclusive" allotment took away about 13% of the mintage already.....
