Any idea on the cause of the Reverse anomaly? It looks pretty neat to me!

That's what I guessed but couldn't find any literature or examples to be sure. Thanks Maineman

I would say this is an extreme example that is worthy of saving or trying to sell on ebay for a few bucks. At the very least the photos should be kept in an online file for others to find easily. I found a nickel last month with finger feeder damage to the die. It is not easy finding references on error coin sites for these errors. They are not that common from what I can see. It is an actual error from the mint not something done after the coin was made so it should be a collectible error although may not be worth much right now. ebay gives 50 free auctions a month if you don't have any other stuff to list it would not hurt to give it a try. I am going to try my nickel on there someday. The gouges on both of our coins are much stronger gouges than what is shown in the link by Coinaki. I read somewhere on the net that the extreme examples are sometimes collected.
