I found a 1974-D Kennedy half dollar coin while searching a roll. The 7 appears to have been polished off and also the mint mark appears to be a D over S. Has anyone seen this variety before?
Right now I only have a cell phone (app) to take close ups of the coin. I was wrong about the D over S. When looking at it from different angles under magnification, it appears to be a very strong and maybe multiple punched mint mark. Are there any suggestions as to how to use a camera to take close up shots? I have a Nikon D400 camera with 23x zoom. Is there a way of using this to get those close up shots of mint marks and other small details on coins? Thanks for your encouraging comments! From the Harrisonburg, VA area
