As detailed in the Red Book: Variety 1 No stars below eagle 1916-17, otherwise known as the Type I Variety 2 Pedestal date 1917-24, otherwise known as the Type II Variety 2 Recessed date 1925-30. Really should be Variety 3 and most collectors do call this variety the Type III SLQ Ed ANA LM-3175

I don't collect SLQ, so I never noticed there was a Type III. I have two SLQ: a Type I and a Type III.
