It's kind of special that we get to see a pattern here on these rare occasions. Nothing beats a pattern......

....as to prices for patterns or specimens ...You guys and gals would be much better than I at guessing ~what today's prices would be.

Maybe SPP(or others..'mods maybe') could share some more of his/there knowledge at to recent Canadian prices. Lets put it this way,..if these were US rarities,...we could retire on them...but they're not...

If I want to quote someone here,...Is there some 'hidden magic button/icon', because I can't get a quote in here "for love or money"...? Any help or comments always appreciated...

Use the Reply to Topic link. In the Formatting row of buttons, it's the second last one. It will insert the html text "quote][/quote". Just copy and paste the quote in between. quote]insert quote here[/quote Note, I removed the beginning [ and trailing ] so it would remain as text.

There is an example of the 25-cent pattern in the RCNA auction this summer. ICCS MS-64 heavy cameo (although it is a specimen strike)

http://auctions.tcnccoins.com/1967-...-s_i16743460

When I bought my pattern, I had both pattern pieces in my hands and I got to chose. I picked the one without the cameo, because it had far superior surfaces. PCGS would probably grade that RCNA auction piece SP-63 (or lower), there is a ton of marks on the cameo surfaces, especially on the reverse (as cameos are prone to get). I should mention at the time, both pattern pieces were in older ICCS MS-65 holders - at least ICCS recognized that when TCNC re-submitted their pattern for the cameo designation, that they recognized their earlier mistake in the mis-grade, but they still don't acknowledge it as a specimen strike. I put my piece in a PCGS holder, and according to Proof Positive Coins, it is one of the nicer ones that exist.

Prior to this summer's auction, the last time a pattern piece like this sold was in 2007:

If this was an American pattern, it would be worth considerably more. I will be watching the summer auction for fun, to see what the hammer is. I suspect around $4K. Of course, if you want a better piece, here is one for sale:
