Hi,
Just wanted to know what variety of dimes are keepers? Since the penny
is gone, I have been checking out dimes and nickels. Thanks for any replies, I love this forum.

well first off it depends if you want to build a complete set from 1858 upwards or do you want just certain coins... 1858 has a few varieties, as does the 1870, 71 , Key dates are 1872, 1875,1884 ,1885 ,1886 , 1887 , 1893 both flat and Round tops, ect ..... They are a great bunch to hunt for...

Not too many post silver varieties come to mind.
1968 Philadelphia and Ottawa,
1969 large date,very rare
1980 large and small 0
Hmmm!
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

2000 with a P mintmark has a very low mintage.

I think the 2007 curved 7 is lower mintage.

i would split between dimes and nickels,,1953.sf,near leaf,1965 large beads.1990 bare belly.plus others with great varieties
