Even without the re-strike date - the medal shows features that should stand right out. The appearance of this item should generate some questions immediately.
In 1715 how were coins made?
How was this coin/medal made?
History tells us that in 1715 coins were still made on manually powered presses and dies were made by hand.
The coin in question is ROUND (a perfect circle) and more critically there is a standing rim outside a circles of beads (dentils). That means the coin was made on a modern high power three die press. These presses were first invented in the early to mid-1800's.
So knowing just about nothing about what this item purports to be (except for the date) - you should KNOW in a couple seconds that this was NOT made in the 18th century.
Look first, not at the details, less you miss the forest for the trees.
