I went over a week without finding any hole fillers. That all changed today as I found a '50 and a '56. Someone took a pair of shears and pinched down on the '50 leaving a mark of the obverse and the reverse. I'll replace it when I find another, but can't complain because that is a semi-tough one to find. 13 more holes to fill!

Do roll searchers occasionally break down and buy a nickel that they need? I have Jeffersons galore and I would be happy to sell/trade them. I am away next week to the New Hampshire Coin Expo but upon my return perhaps we can hammer out a deal. Let me know by PM.

There is definitely something to be said about older circulated coins. It's like each of them have a story to tell...being used in everyday transactions. I used to do these folders when I was a kid. As I got older I realized they weren't the best way to store or collect. But I must say, it did serve its purpose back then for me. Good job!

Nice finds . I have a nickel set from 1938-1964 that is complete. I really like Jefferson nickels because you can find most of the early dates in rolls or even your change. Good luck in finishing it!

Thanks again for all of the words of encouragement! I'm enjoying putting this set together as it has taken me back to when I was a kid. Plus it has the advantage of being seriously cheap! As stated before, these are all from circulation. I reckon a few of these may take me a while to find due to their scarcity. That's OK...the fun is in the hunt! Speaking of which, I found a 1945-S War Nickel today! 12 more holes to fill!

I love these true Jefferson coin collector threads. Fun series, done the old fashioned way.

S/S? that would be interesting to see, that is, if you would take a photo of the reverse and not the front :3
