Does the mint offer any sets that include the circulation strike quarters?

Yes, they offer the P,D,S, quarters on a collector card.

Items: N46,N47,N48,N49,N50

One three coin set for each quarter.

The PDS three-coin Quarters cards have a Proof San Francisco Quarter, as always.

The U.S. Mint sells Circulation-finish "S"-Quarters only in 40-coin rolls and 100-coin bags.

Thanks, DNA, ....... I must have looked at those cards 100 times in the mint catalog and never read the description. They all looked like business strikes, and I just alwys assumed they were..

Thanks everyone.
Why do you think they arent included in the annual unc set's? They include half dollars and Presidential dollars that are just minted for collectors at this point?
Or at least put them in the circ quarter sets they offer.
I wouldnt think its the price as it only adds $1.25 face to the set.

I think they exclude them because they want people to buy the rolls and bags. If this is the only way to get them then people will order more rolls and bags. However, it also makes them more "valuable" if the mintages are lower.

Personally, I kind of like it this way. We will see how this shakes out years from now. I also think the strike and finish on the "S" coins are nicer than the "P" and "D" mint coins. Maybe because less are made.

Circulation-finish JFK Halves and Golden Dollars are also sold only in bags and rolls (with Golden Dollars, you can also order boxes that contain multiple rolls).

The U.S. Mint's definition of an Uncirculated coin (as found in the Uncirculated Mint Sets) is that it is struck on a lower-speed press with greater striking force. The Uncirculated coins are also minted and packaged in their own special area of the Mint facility (Phil. or Denver), away from the main production floor.

The circulation-finish San Francisco ATB Quarters are not claimed to be produced in the same manner as Mint-defined Uncirculated coins, but they are of a higher overall grade than true Philly/Denver business strikes, and are basically at least equivalent to the P and D Uncirculated Quarters.
