Quote: basebal, the rules are clearly stated on page one concerning the pick deadline. Actually they arent. 8pm isn't a time. 8pm is 5pm on the west coast. So really youre saying 8-11pm if you mean local time, if not you never specified and my picks were in in that time. Quote: If you want to insult me and blame me for your picks, well whatever makes you feel better. All I'm doing is pointing out the hypocrisy of holding others to a higher standard than yourself. Not having a deadline for yourself to post but then holding people to a hard unclear arbitrary deadline is doing exactly that. All I asked for was for common sense to be applied. I wouldnt care if you posted the picks tuesday or wednesday as long as you gave others the same leeway, but if youre unwilling to do that then you picks should be in during the weekend no matter what.

I'm one of those guys that if you aren't gonna play by the rules I just don't wanna play. Heck last year I would've won outright if the rules had been followed. I just about quit last year when that was going on. If we do anymore free passes, I'm done.

Easy, basebal. Reading the last pages of this thread, I feel for you.
@Lion, I do not read the fact that basebal is blaming you for his picks, he is simply pleading for leniency and sort of asking for a clarification.
I suspect that Lion assumes that we knew his deadlines to mean forum time, not time at timezone. If I was running this contest I'd give baseball a pass for accidentally not being specific. However, it's Lion's contest, his rules, and his prerogative to both be hard and fast about the deadline and to confirm my suspicion.

Yes, forum time. Guess I should have specified that. However he said himself twice that his picks were an hour late on page 4, so I don't think there was any confusion over time zones. Quote: Lion, in the event that (1) you have not compiled a game list and (2) one of us might be forced to go off the grid by life obligations and could miss a deadline you set, would you be willing to make some sort of accommodation as long as we let you know beforehand?
Yeah, just contact me and we'll figure something out. Like I said earlier, games will almost always be up Sunday evening, if not then I will let you know and it will be Monday at the latest. No free passes if the pick deadline is missed, if I do it once then it becomes a thing the rest of the season.

I wouldnt have asked why I only got 3 points if I thought they were late. Other said they were late and I assumed the rules stated 8 pm Eastern which was a mistake on my part. When you mentioned the rules I went back and checked and saw that no time zone was listed which put my pick in before 8pm in the Continental US.

Well then we both made mistakes, so why don't we just call it a wash and be done with it. I don't want people leaving the contest because of some drama.

I lost out on 3 points last week for being late (I am not complaining). I don't want that to happen again.
1) Nebraska 2) Ball St 3) Georgia Tech 4) Wisconsin 5) Texas A&M, 59 points
I know I am going against the crowd by picking Texas A&M. If they win I might just jump back into first place. Going for the gusto!

I do apologize if it got personal. Ive been thinking about it some and it seems to me the best thing is just going to be for me to drop out this year before it actually does become an issue. If I were to end up losing by 3 points or less theres just no way that wouldnt be an issue.
