I've been collecting for quite some time, and have recently got very interested in SILVER PROOF quality £1 coins, but I need to know ...would a SILVER PROOF £1 tarnish to a yellowy colour like the one on the left, I recently bought it as a SILVER PROOF in RM box with COA, but upon opening it......well, I'm just not sure, is the an easy way to tell if its a genuine piece.

Silver-£1-Proof.....or--Standard-£1-Proof.

I cant be positive but It looks like a proof with hazing to me. Hazing isn't all that uncommon on modern proofs, at least in the US.

At first when I looked at I I thought...what the heck....but the more I looked at it...I began to wonder, the seller bought it originally as a Silver Proof, and I am more and more swaying to believing it is, so opinions in this case will greatly influence me.

did you crack the box open or are they still in the box? Toning is very common in 1984 and 85 UK proof sets

Looks kosher to me from what I can see, none of my silver £1 coins have toned like that but I do have a bimetallic £2 that looks almost as if the gold plating has 'bled' into the silver innner which actually looks kinda cool imo.
