Thanks for sharing NVU! Have you seen the JM Focus Medalist rounds. I believe they made a 1oz, 2oz, 3oz, 4oz, and 5oz versions of them. I picked up a 5oz Focus Medalist round last year and I'm still looking for more to complete the set. They must be more rare than I thought. Very nice JM vet round. I need to find one of those too.

Yes, I've seen all except for 1 oz. My educated guess, the 5 oz is the most common and the 1 oz is the rarest one in the set.
Is SN on your 5 oz less than 1000?

I believe the serial number starts with a "K." I can't remember off hand but I think the next number for the serial started with the size of the round. So for the JM Focus Medalist 5oz rounds the first one made is serial number K5001 and the 4oz rounds would start at K4001. I will have to check and get back to you.

You're right, the first number of SN represents the size of the round. There should be 5 digits after a letter (ie K50xxx). I haven't seen any round has SN more than 1000, so mostl likely yours has less than 1000 as well

Lots of JM counterfeit bars on Alibaba.com, the Chinese thieves website. Beware, and go on Alibaba.com to see which ZJM bars that they are making out of tungsten.

Wow I can't believe there are sites like that. They have 100 Johnson Matthey clad bars listed for $217. I don't think they stamp them with copy or replica either. There is one listing that you can order a fake bar made out of anything you want. For example a "silver" kilo bar made out of nickel or zinc.

The chinese are doing amazing fakes of everything now. And not all of alibaba.com is illegal/unethical activity, it is a free market, and like any free market, there are many, many shades of grey. I have contacted several suppliers via alibaba.com, and had great experiences selling their quite legitimate products.
But as a general rule, all bullion purchases should be tested for size, weight, and if possible, tested for purity.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing NVU. I don't have any of the shipwreck, yet you got 8, not to mention the consecutive serials.

I just thought I'd share a picture of the original Johnson Matthey silver 5 gram shipwreck order form from 1981. A friend found this and shared it with me.

Yes there was a gold 5 gram version. My guess is since they were $195 per bar back in 1981 they must not have sold very many. Very rare piece today.
